A tornado April 20 destroyed the city's Material Recovery Facility in far northeastern Columbia. Depending where on the landfill property the facility is built, it will cost an estimated $26.47 million or $26.71 million, according to a presentation that will be shown to the council.

Ash St., according to a news release from the Columbia Farmers Market. Nearly 30 vendors will sell produce, meat, cut flowers and baked goods, among other classic farmers market products.

Graphic designer and Columbia native Jadie Arnett scored the winning goal last month, when her poster design was selected to represent Kansas City in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For the first time in FIFA history, all host cities were invited to create a specific poster design celebrating local culture and tournament pride. Through a poster design contest, a panel of regional arts and culture leaders selected five finalists, and Arnett's design was eventually declared the winner.
