TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Afternoon storms will be scattered from Friday through Sunday, but this weekend’s storms could be more impactful. Friday's storms will be typical for this time of year—scattered with occasional heavy rain and a few rumbles of thunder. Saturday brings a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather in parts of the Big Bend and South Georgia. While storms remain scattered, an isolated storm could become severe.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A trough still lingers over our neighborhoods Thursday, bringing a rainy start to the day for parts of the Big Bend. Shower and storm chances increase through the afternoon. While severe weather isn’t expected, heavy downpours are possible with some storms. You may be ducking in and out of cover as rain rates could approach 1 inch per hour. Many spots picked up 1 to 2 inches of rain Wednesday, and we could add another 1 to 2 inches this afternoon.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — As a trough lifts north and a low pressure system forms in the Atlantic, our atmosphere becomes saturated! There will be plenty of moisture for storms to pull form when we look at rain totals Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Some rain totals will add up to 2-4" in neighborhoods closer to the I-75 corridor. Some neighborhoods could even see 4"+ by the end of the week. Whether the low becomes tropical or not, the impacts will be the same.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — An inverted trough is lifting northward, drawing moisture into our region and setting us up for widespread showers and thunderstorms by Wednesday. A soggy midweek is looking more likely. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is also keeping an eye on a low-pressure system forming off the southeastern U.S. coast mid to late week. While development chances remain low, this system could still boost our rain chances — meaning a wet end to the week is possible.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — We’ll enjoy a sunny and dry start to Tuesday, with pleasant conditions kicking off the day. But don’t get too comfortable — changes are on the way. A trough that’s been hanging to our south and bringing widespread rain from Tampa to the Keys begins lifting north, and it’s taking rain chances with it. As that system moves, we’ll start to see moisture return, setting the stage for a soggy middle to end of the week. Wednesday is looking like a day of widespread showers.
