This story was produced by our colleagues at the BBC. The benefits and drawbacks of artificial intelligence are increasingly in the spotlight as AI creeps into more and more parts of our lives. One of those areas is customer service, where AI tools are being developed at breakneck speed to both cut costs and provide more capacity for call answering and queries. At the same time, in many countries, call center work is a valuable source of income.

This story was produced by our colleagues at the BBC. Voice cloning is becoming easier, faster and more convincing. Artificial Intelligence makes it possible to change the age of an actor’s voice, translate words into any language, and replace a voice lost through illness. Wanted to try @limebike which is v expensive but they now do quite good value passes. But unlike other ppl I know in London, the option to buy isn't on my app even though I've just downloaded it - customer service has gone AWOL. Any tips for accessing the pass option?

Hi @ubereats_uk what’s your complaints procedure pls? I’m stuck in a Kafkaesque doom loop of cut and paste laziness from your customer services team.
