A truck driver who struck and dragged a pedestrian — who then was hit by a yellow taxi while critically injured in the street — has been charged in the shocking crash just outside Central Park, police said Thursday. Luis Cedeno Pluas, 59, was behind the wheel of an Isuzu box truck when he bashed into the victim around 6 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2024, cops said. The victim, who is homeless, was standing in the right-most lane of W. 59th St. near Sixth Ave.

A man wanted for fatally shooting his girlfriend — a first-grade teacher — turned the gun on himself as police tried to coax him out of a Bronx apartment Thursday to arrest him for the tragic slaying, police sources said. Police responded to an apartment on Pratt Ave. near Conner St. in Baychester around 2:20 p.m., where the 35-year-old suspect, accused of fatally shooting 31-year-old Jessica Hoyle, was laying low with an acquaintance, according to police and sources.

An e-bike rider clung to life for nearly a week before dying after being struck by two drivers in Queens last month, police said Wednesday. Jorman Esparza-Olivares, 23, was on the e-bike heading north on 63rd Drive approaching Queens Blvd. in Rego Park just before 5:30 p.m. March 19, according to cops. At the same time, a 60-year-old man behind the wheel of a Ford SUV and a 54-year-old man driving a Mercedes Benz were traveling east on Queens Blvd.
