A Queens middle school teacher was busted Tuesday morning for allegedly raping a child, cops said. David Ospino, 36, who teaches at I.S. 204 Oliver Wendell Holmes Middle School in Long Island City, faces charges of rape and endangering the welfare of a child. The victim was not a student at the school where Ospino taught, sources said. The victim, who was a teenager, came forward to police and accused Ospino of raping her at his home last year, according to AMNewYork.

More than a year after a 66-year-old man was fatally run over and dragged for nearly three blocks in Queens, the hit-and-run driver who bystanders begged to stop turned himself in to face murder charges Tuesday, officials said. Warren Rollins surrendered at the 105th Precinct stationhouse in Queens Village for the Dec. 10, 2023, crash that killed Gary Charlotin. Rollins, 49, ignored pleas from horrified onlookers begging him to stop, according to a law enforcement source.

One man was killed and a second survived being shot in the eye in a hail of gunfire on a Brooklyn street, police said Tuesday. Ramel Fisher, 39, was shot in the abdomen on Putnam Ave. near Central Ave. in Bushwick about 10 p.m. Monday, cops sad. A 63-year-old man standing near him was blasted in the right eye. It wasn’t immediately clear who the intended target was. Medics rushed both victims to Brookdale University Hospital, where Fisher died. The other victim is in stable condition, police said.
