A popular life simulation game, The Sims franchise allows players to play the life of people known as the “Sims.” In this newest expansion, death is only the beginning. After having not completed bucket list items, Sims may pass on or become a playable ghost with lots of new abilities and the chance to complete unfinished business. There are two new careers: Grim Reaper and Mortician.

I have really been enjoying Agatha All Along since it first dropped and, the further I got into the series, the more I got into it. With the drop of the final episodes this past Wednesday, I can now look back over the parts that stood out the most for me. Only Murders in the Building was one of those surprise shows that I hadn’t anticipated being a favorite, but enough people whose opinions I trusted were raving about and the combination of Selena Gomez with Steve Martin and Martin Short was sort of too unexpected not to look into. It quickly became a big hit in our house and with the fourth season wrapping up and a fifth season already greenlit, it’s the perfect time to look at the season’s highlights.

The Sims 4 has now been out for ten years and has gathered up quite a few expansions and add-ons in that time (buying everything will set you back over $1,000 at this point). If you’ve been a fan of the franchise there’s sort of been something for everyone including updated versions of expansions from previous editions and even completely new features.

I have been playing The Sims since a few of my gaming friends were talking about the release of Sims 3 and trusting their judgement, I picked up the game and was hooked ever since. The Sims 3 eventually became The Sims 4 and eventually I found myself wondering how long I had left with The Sims 4 until The Sims 5 dropped. A few years ago when Project Rene was announced, players assumed this was the inevitable The Sims 5. Apparently it’s not, and Project Rene will be an online multiplayer off-shoot.

Some of my (and my family’s) favorite shows are the ones that don’t adhere to a traditional release schedule thanks to the way content for streaming services is created. While the wait is harder on the fans, I can appreciate the flexibility this gives shows with high and complication production demands. Of course it’s extra exciting when these shows do offer us little sneak peeks and photos to let us know that production is underway.

A few years ago, when WandaVision first dropped, I wasn’t sure what it was going to be about, but it was a Marvel show and I decided to give it the benefit of a few episodes. I still remember the slow reveal of something larger going on, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that WandaVision was really a journey in processing the grief of the life you wanted to have which struck extra true to me given our battles with secondary infertility and pregnancy loss.

Labor Day weekend tends to host a number of conventions across the country from large and iconic ones like Dragon Con, to smaller and more local ones. Last year I wrote about the joy of smaller conventions after attending Tucson Comic-Con. We just attended our third Tucson Comic-Con and one of my favorite things to do after attending these events is to highlight some of the cool artists and makers that populate Vendor Halls with their small businesses and Artist Alley tables.

Sometimes the social media algorithms bring you things that are way off, and sometimes they seem to know exactly what they’re doing. They really hit a win when the Valari pillow for gamers started to show up on my Facebook feed. The Valari is advertised as a pillow for console gamers that helps you sit at a much better angle to help reduce the sort of aches and pains that can come from extended gaming sessions.
