Two out of three Sydney light rail lines will be closed for the entire weekend due to planned trackwork and maintenance works. Services on the L2 Randwick line and L3 Kingsford line will not run from Saturday morning until 2am on Sunday. The L1 Dulwich Hill line will not be affected by the trackwork and services will continue to run as per the normal schedule.

    Emergency services have reported passengers are struck inside a light rail in central Sydney after a tree fell on the track and brought down power lines. It comes after paramedics, police, and NSW Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at Bulwara Rd in Pyrmont at about 11:45am. Early reports indicate no passengers are injured. However, emergency services have confirmed the tram has stopped as they wait for the power to be shut off.
