DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Danbury’s Ali Feliz is in elite company – he’s a back-to-back champ for Team USA Boxing. Last month, the 20-year-old super heavyweight won the 2023 amateur title, qualifying him for the 2024 Olympic Games. The 6’2” 220-pounder packs a punch and world championship potential. He walks tall and carries a big stick. “I keep it quiet I let everyone else do the talking, I do the talking with my hands,” Feliz said. Even on a foggy day, the vision is clear for Feliz.

Nicholas Kapoor is paving the way for human rights advocacy in Connecticut as he is also the brand-new chair for the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Two new art exhibitions are opening on Thursday at The 224 Ecospace in Hartford. The 224 Ecospace is a social enterprise with dance studios, art exhibits and office spaces. The 30,000-square-foot space is located in the Asylum Hill neighborhood. Andre Rochester, the production manager at The 224 Ecospace interviewed with News 8 to share what you can expect at the exhibit.

WTNH, Conn. (WTNH) – What makes doctors tick? For Dr. Nate Wood, it’s culinary arts and medicine. Dr. Wood is an instructor and education fellow for general internal medicine at the Yale School of Medicine but he’s also a chef. He studied at the Culinary Arts Institute of America in New York. Dr. Wood said he developed a passion for cooking as a child. He said he fell in love with the Food Network after breaking his leg while playing soccer as a child.
