Disney Store is set to open a new limited-time pop-up at Westfield White City in June. The retail destination will allow visitors to purchase products from the brand’s parks, stories and characters. Disney said the opening will be celebrated with a “special magical moment” for shoppers, with further details to be announced shortly. The pop-up will feature daily opening ceremonies, immersive in-store designs featuring Tinker Bell, and sculpted icons of Disney characters throughout the space.

UK footfall was up over April, boosted by the spring sunshine and Easter falling in April, fresh data found. Total UK footfall rose 7.2% during the four weeks from 6 April to 3 May, up from -5.4% the month prior, according to the British Retail Consortium (BRC). High street footfall increased 5.3% over the period, rising from -4% in March, while retail park footfall jumped 7.5% from -1.2% the month before. Shopping centre footfall was boosted 5.6% over the period, increasing from 5.8% in March.

John Lewis has opened its Jamie Oliver cookery school and cafe at its Oxford Street flagship. The store’s new additions, which span over 4,600sq ft on the third floor, includes two cookery school classrooms and a 50-seat Jamie Oliver cafe. The opening comes in response to increasing demand from customers to combine shopping with eating and drinking, with hospitality sales at the department store up 6% over the last year.

Mothercare reported its profits had plummeted in its latest pre-close update, which it attributed to the “continued impact of the uncertainty in the Middle East” upon its franchise partner. The nursery specialist adjusted EBITDA for the period covering 52 weeks to 29 March came in at £3.5m, falling from £6.9m compared to the same time last year. Retail sales via its franchise partners plunged 18% to £231m.

Co-op has paused its orders of non-essential products amid the fallout from its cyber attack. Writing to the businesses that supply its food and drink on Wednesday (7 May), the convenience giant told them it would only be manually ordering “a minimum range of products that customers and members need the most,” The Telegraph reported. Co-op noted that the companies should not send any deliveries to its depots without direct instruction.
