1. IntroductionOne of the most common diseases of the skin worldwide, acne is an inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous follicle that contributes to a prevalence rate of up to 85% in adolescents and young adults (1). Acne has not been fully explained by its pathogenesis, but there are four recognized factors: excessive sebum production, hyperproliferation of Cutibacterium acnes, hyperkeratosis of the follicular sebaceous glands, and inflammatory mechanisms.
