MAR VISTA – A person was found shot to death late Thursday night in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Department officers with the Pacific Division responded to reports of a shooting victim in the 5300 block of Alvern Circle around 11:00 p.m.When officers arrived, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head in the middle of the street. Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and declared the victim to be deceased at the scene.

LANCASTER – A pedestrian was pronounced dead after being hit by a hit-and-run driver in Lancaster Thursday evening. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call regarding a person in the middle of the street near the intersection of 67th Street West and Avenue M in Quartz Hill. Upon arrival, they found an unidentified individual in the street with injuries suggesting that they had been struck by a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
