Pitch, Please! was a finalist for the title of best collegiate a cappella group in the world — and for this year’s competition season, it knew exactly how to prepare. Northeastern’s premier women-centered a cappella group was founded in 2012 to “challenge the standards of traditional collegiate a cappella.” Two years ago, the group won third place at the 2023 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, or ICCA.

Molly Thompson goes by many different names on TikTok: Guac Girl, Guacamolly, Bev Cart Girl and Molly Faye. A second-year international business major from Houston, Tex., Thompson started posting on social media in sixth grade on Musical.ly, a short-form video app launched in 2014. When Musical.ly merged with TikTok in 2018, Thompson transitioned her content from lip syncing to rant videos, in which she would talk to her camera about her opinions on topics like school and politics.

In my second year of college, I became addicted to hosting dinner parties. During my first co-op in New York, I invited the only three people I knew in the city over to my apartment and cooked dinner for them. Since then, many of my fondest memories from college have been made over various dinner parties at my apartment, parks and on the living room floors. There’s something very special about a dinner party.
