PLOVER, Wis. (WSAW) - In Portage County, the final diaper drop-off event of the NewsChannel 7 Diaper Drive brought in an incredible amount of diapers and cash donations on Thursday. At Paper City Savings Bank in Plover, their drive-thru brought in more people than ever before. The United Way of Portage County worked with the bank and local businesses to collect diapers in different ways, including a competition to collect the most diapers.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) - For the past twelve years, the United Way of Portage County has been spearheading efforts to ensure that parents who need diapers receive them. Soon, the organization will be driving distribution in the county as an official diaper bank. Last year, more than 75,000 diapers were dispensed through the United Way, but CEO Fred Hebblewhite said that addresses only a small portion of the need.
