STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) - For the past twelve years, the United Way of Portage County has been spearheading efforts to ensure that parents who need diapers receive them. Soon, the organization will be driving distribution in the county as an official diaper bank. Last year, more than 75,000 diapers were dispensed through the United Way, but CEO Fred Hebblewhite said that addresses only a small portion of the need.

ROSHOLT, Wis. (WSAW) - Portage County Crime Stoppers is looking for information on two separate crimes from late April/early May. Portage County Sheriff Mike Lukas says one involves a fraudulent cashier’s check used to purchase a motorcycle, and the other is a moped that was stolen while a couple was hiking. Authorities say the motorcycle was put up for sale on Craigslist by James and Tanion Bowker from Rosholt.
