Major charity cuts nearly 200 jobs amid organisation-wide restructureThe Royal National Institute of Blind People has cut nearly 200 jobs as a part of a wide-ranging restructure. The charity has told Third Sector that 197 of the charity’s 1,248 staff were made redundant after a 45-day consultation, which opened in January. The cuts were made across the organisation, Third Sector understands.

One of Scotland’s biggest charities has appointed Kay Morrison, chief executive of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, to the top job. Morrison will take up the chief executive role at Glasgow Life on 7 July. She succeeds Susan Deighan, who helped found the charity in 2007 and will retire in June after more than three years as chief executive.
