MARIE, Mich. – Senior setter Emily Kalinowski (South Lyon, Mich.) has been named the GLIAC Setter of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Kalinowski notched over 100 assists over two games, making her the fourth Laker to ever record 1,000 assists in a single season in program history.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) volleyball team (8-21, 5-13 GLIAC) came away with a thrilling five-set win over the Michigan Tech Huskies (13-15, 9-8 GLIAC) to play their way into the GLIAC tournament. The Huskies came out swinging, jumping out to a 5-2 lead in the opening set, but the Lakers fought back with runs of 5-1 and 4-1 behind multiple kills from senior Emilee McDaniel (Manistique, Mich.).

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) volleyball team (6-19, 3-11 GLIAC) fell to the Pride of Purdue Northwest (11-13, 6-7 GLIAC) by a final score of 3-1 on Saturday. Both teams battled early in the opening set, but the Lakers were able to pull ahead with a 5-0 run that featured a kill from freshman Rachel Steele (Eaton Rapids, Mich.).

MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) volleyball team (4-13, 3-6 GLIAC) fell to the Davenport Panthers (8-9, 5-4 GLIAC) in four sets despite a dominant opening set by the Lakers on Saturday. Both teams battled early in the opening set on their way to a 7-7 stalemate, but the Lakers would put their foot on the gas with a pair of 5-0 scoring runs behind multiple kills from Mariana Velasque (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) volleyball program (3-12, 2-5 GLIAC) is set to face the Wayne State Warriors (5-10, 2-5 GLIAC) and the Davenport Panthers (7-8, 4-3 GLIAC) in Bud Cooper Gymnasium on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Mariana Velasque (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) continues to lead the GLIAC in kills with 197, and setter Emily Kalinowski (South Lyon, Mich.) has been leading the conference in assists against league opponents.
