Adult recipients undergoing first-time liver-only transplant from 2002 to 2021 in the United States were identified using the UNOS/OPTN database. We compared post-transplant outcomes of recipients receiving liver transplant for HEH versus other diagnoses. Survival was visualized using Kaplan-Meier curves and compared using log-rank test and multivariable Cox regression.

DiscussionTo the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study to report the incidence of illness and injury sustained by staff members from a single national delegation supporting athletes during a Summer or Winter Olympic or Paralympic Games. Each delegation’s respective staff members are critical contributors towards the delegation’s success and the success of the Games overall.

For me, the holiday season is always a time of deep reflection and gratitude. This is especially true as I sit to write my last op-ed as mayor of Duluth. Before taking office, I remember reading about the living bridges of Meghalaya, India. For generations, the monsoon season would bring raging rivers, sweeping away even the strongest bamboo bridges, making travel impossible and isolating villages for months.
