President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Rep. Elise Stefanik to serve in his Cabinet as the ambassador to the United Nations. According to Politico, Trump said he was “honored to nominate" Stefanik, describing her as, "an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter."In a statement to the New York Post, Stefanik said she was "deeply humbled" to accept Trump's nomination. "I look forward to earning the support of my colleagues in the United States Senate," said Stefanik.

North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik has won her sixth term in office. According to unofficial election results, Stefanik easily defeated her Democratic challenger Paula Collins by about 25 percentage points. Stefanik’s wide margin of victory over Collins was expected. Stefanik had massive advantages in fundraising and national name recognition. NCPR would normally have tape from Stefanik’s victory speech, but her campaign declined to tell us where she was on Election night.

Last summer, the owner of the wine shop, Jes Rich, noticed a group of masked men in the street. “As soon as I saw them I ran out the door,” said Rich, who is openly queer and sees her shop as a safe and welcoming space for other queer people.

The amendments form part of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill (the Bill), a Government-sponsored bill which includes as one of its stated objectives the need to prevent organised criminals from using companies and other corporate entities to abuse the UK’s open economy.
