A Preston drug dealer on the cusp of freedom gets sent back to jail was sent back to jail. Officers from Northwich Proactive CID arrested Samuel Watt, of Thornley Green, as he was released from jail in Preston. The 34-year-old was set to be released after serving a prison sentence for drug dealing in Northwich. However, while he was in prison, he thought that he could carry on dealing from his cell using a phone which he had smuggled into the jail.

King Charles III has praised a 101-year-old D-Day veteran and told him to "keep drinking whisky" during a visit to Lancashire. The King met Richard Brock in Lancaster, where he was greeted by cheering crowds for his first official visit as monarch. He remembered the veteran from a visit to Normandy last year, and told him "you are fantastic" while at a reception at Lancaster Castle.

The race is on to save Adlington from losing its last remaining Post Office and banking facility. The Post Office on Market Street which has been run by Jill and Barry Heeks since 1992 is due to close in a few months, and plans to relocate it under new ownership to Burgess Fruit and Vegetable shop on Park Road have hit planning problems.

A court case involving the collapse of a roof at a Pontins holiday park that killed a grandmother has been postponed. 18 people were injured at the Brean Sands site in February 2019 when a 40-metre section of structural ducting and ceiling fell inside an entertainment area. Grandmother Wendy Jones, 68, of Hereford, was among six people taken to hospital following the incident. She died in August 2019.
