The Kenbi Land Claim - which has been running since 1979 - has been finalised. On Thursday, the Australian and Northern Territory governments handed back the final parcels of land on the Cox Peninsula to the Kenbi Land Trust and Larrakia Development Corporation. The land handback includes the Cox Peninsula, nearby islands, and sea Country areas, reaching to the low tide mark, with measures in place to balance sacred site protections with public access.

The Northern Territory Coroner heard on Wednesday from Counsel assisting Peggy Dwyer, who delivered a scathing assessment of former constable Zachary Rolfe during closing submissions of the drawn-out inquest into the Warlpiri teen Kumanjayi Walker's death. In her submission, Dwyer alleged that Rolfe was ‘ego-driven’, ‘undisciplined’, ‘contemptuous of authority’ and ‘had a fascination with violence’.

After the Northern Territory Coroner handed down her findings into the deaths of four Aboriginal women due to domestic violence, advocates sent that simple message to politicians, pleading for action. On Monday, after more than a year's investigation, Coroner Elisabeth Armitage released her findings in the inquest about Miss Yunupingu, Ngyego Ragurrk, Kumarn Rubuntja and Kumanjayi Haywood, who were all killed by their partners.
