The Imo State Police Command said it has arrested three suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) at Ubahu in Okigwe local government area of the state. A statement by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Henry Okoye, noted that the arrests were in continuation of the Command’s drive to sustain operational momentum against criminal elements threatening public safety in the state.

Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Owerri branch, has insisted that due process be followed in the appointment of the acting chief judge of Imo State. The association stressed that if for any reason, the most senior judge or judges were by-passed, the rationale for this deviation must be justified.
