Consumers have grown increasingly clear about their preferences for sustainability and it’s showing in their spending habits. A new study found that more than 80% of consumers are willing to pay more for sustainably produced goods, which is especially notable at a time when shoppers are tightening their belts amid inflation and higher costs of living. Some consumers are willing to pay a premium of 9.7% more for products that meet higher environmental standards, the study reported.
