(WBTW) — The Florence County Coroner’s Office has identified a man killed in a shooting at a Florence nightclub on Mother’s Day, which the sheriff says was the third shooting over the weekend. Melvin Anthony Gibson, 39, died after the shooting that took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday at Qulture Bistro, the coroner’s office said.

MCCOLL, S.C. (WBTW) — McCall restauranteur Robert Outlaw narrowly defeated the town’s acting mayor for a full-term in the office during a Tuesday special election. Unofficial results show that Outlaw defeated Brian Blue 278-270, with official certification expected on Thursday. Outlaw, who ran for mayor in November 2023 before losing to George Garner III, still step into the role vacated after Garner’s death in a car wreck late last year.
