Tony Gonsolin is on the mound for the Dodgers, the first of two straight pitchers starting on four days rest. Thus far the team has gotten pretty good results in the first three starts on four days rest, with Gonsolin (May 11), Dustin May (21) and Clayton Kershaw (May 28) combining to allow two runs in 16 innings, with 15 strikeouts and five walks.

This time, they signed right-hander José Ureña to a major league deal, and activated him for their Tuesday night game against the Mets. Ureña is not to be confused with Monday trade acquisition Will Klein, who took the 40-man roster spot of Chris Stratton, who signed just eight days earlier. In between, the Dodgers also traded for right-hander Alexis Díaz, though the closer is fine tuning at Camelback Ranch for now.

Ohtani hit .309/.398/.782 with a 213 wRC+ during May and led the majors with 15 home runs, tying a Dodgers record for most home runs in a month. He led the National League in slugging percentage, OPS (1.180), wRC+, home runs, extra-base hits (21), and runs scored (31).

Quintero had 12 hits in 25 at-bats in six games last week in Modesto, hitting .480/.533/.880 with three doubles, two triples, a home run, four stolen bases, and four walks. He drove in seven runs and scored five.

Tanner Scott’s struggles continued in the 10th inning, when the Mets scored a pair off the Dodgers closer then held on for a 4-3 on Monday night at Dodger Stadium. Scott allowed hits to his first two batters faced in the 10th, with a double by Francisco Alvarez and single by Francisco Lindor each plating a run, both with exit velocities of 108.5 mph and 102.5 mph, respectively.

Kershaw’s second of three starts back off the injured list this season came on May 23 at Citi Field in New York, and he pitched two scoreless innings. But rain delayed that game for 98 minutes, which cut his outing short, and led to a 13-inning game that tied for longest in the majors this season.
