Russell-Tyler-Ruthton’s speech program has long been a regional powerhouse. But this year, the Knights reached new and loftier heights. Fifteen RTR students advanced to the Minnesota State High School League state meet based on their performances at the Section 3A meet last Saturday at Redwood Valley High School. “Sending this many students to state is so wonderful that it’s a little hard to process,” RTR speech coach Erick Harper said.

ELKTON, S.D. — Three Elkton-Lake Benton basketball players were named to Dakota Valley Conference teams. On the girls’ side, Andrea Renkly earned an honorable mention nod as the Elks finished with a 7-14 record.

Somehow, some way, the Pipestone Area Schools baseball team played three games last week. The Arrows split Big South Conference games on Thursday, April 3, at the Sanford Sports Complex Diamonds, defeating Redwood Valley 6-2 and falling to Luverne, 9-1. “We had the opportunity to play a conference doubleheader there,” PAS head baseball coach/activities director Rick Zollner said.
