Temperatures reached the 70s Monday, but Tuesday was windy and much colder. Wednesday? Still quite chilly, but without the strong winds that buffeted the Valley Tuesday. After some overnight rain and wet snow showers, we expect clouds to thin during the afternoon Wednesday. This will set the stage for a clear and cold night with frost and readings in the 20s. Despite the cold start to Thursday, a nice afternoon will unfold with a good deal of sun and more seasonable readings.

Temperatures soared into the 70s on Monday despite clouds winning out over the sunshine for much of the afternoon. However, the passage of a cold front late in the day sealed Tuesday's fate as a sharply colder day with readings at least 30 degrees colder than the first day of the work week. The much colder air will be accompanied by a strengthening wind and showers, especially during the afternoon.

WeatherHighs Wednesday should be over 10 degrees above Tuesday's chilly readings. Temperatures struggled to get above the freezing mark Tuesday despite some afternoon sunshine. During the second week of April, average highs are in the mid 50s, so those chilly readings were definitely more like February. Wednesday's highs will also be below the average, but it will still be more pleasant with less wind and readings in the 40s. We do expect clouds to increase during the 2nd half of the day.

WeatherLocalized coatings of snow will be possible into Tuesday morning. The potent cold front that pivoted through eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania early Monday evening will be well east of the area as Tuesday gets underway. It will feel like a February morning with readings in the 20s and a stiff northwesterly wind. We also expect some snow flurries to be around at times overnight through the midday hours on Tuesday.

WeatherThere's not a lot of great news in the forecast for the 2nd week of April. Temperatures dropped into the lower 40s and upper 30s Saturday night and that's where they will stay for much of the day Sunday. The damp weather that was common during the first half of the weekend is set to linger into parts of Sunday; a few wet snowflakes could be seen as the air mass continues to cool.

Thursday evening 7--day: fog and mist will be a possibility overnight into early Friday. Plenty of clouds around through much of Saturday, but Sunday will be much nicer. Largely a cool pattern through next week. https://t.co/buTjs1SEB7
