    AUSTIN (KXAN) - All occupants in an east Austin apartment complex "self-evacuated safely" after the Austin Fire Department responded to a report of a fire on Saturday. Shortly before 7:30 p.m., AFD said on social media it responded to an apartment fire at 1901 E. Anderson Lane on the service road eastbound. AFD said crews were "deploying hand lines to attack the fire." Then, in a 7:40 p.m. update, the agency said the fire was "knocked down" and "contained" to the apartment where it started.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) - A young screech owl may be on the mend while learning how to navigate being an owl, and the Leander community is ensuring his recovery. "Hootie Hoot" was found on a citizen's front porch in the Vista Ridge neighborhood "not wanting to go anywhere," the Leander Police Department said on social media. Police said the citizen left some water out for the owl and left him alone.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin-Travis County EMS responded to a "major collision" between two vehicles just northeast of Austin. ATCEMS medics said on social media it responded to the intersection of Samsung Boulevard and East Parmer Lane around 1:30 p.m. for a report of the crash with three people involved. One adult was declared a "trauma alert," and was transported by medics to Dell Seton with serious injuries, the agency said.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) - One person died, and three others were seriously injured after a crash in southeast Travis County Friday, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. ATCEMS medics said on social media around 7:15 p.m. they responded, along with the Austin Fire Department, to the 2000 block of South State Highway 130 northbound for a two-vehicle crash. Medics said one of the vehicles rolled over with two people in it, and a total of four people were involved in the crash.
