CHICAGO – Wednesday’s rainout at Wrigley Field could’ve meant playing a double-header on Thursday, but instead the game was rescheduled for later this summer. The Chicago White Sox (who also had their home game postponed) will play a double-header on Thursday. Why not the Brewers and Cubs? “I think the conflict was (having to face) Jacob Misiorowski, to be honest,” Brewers Sr. VP and GM Matt Arnold joked on WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News on Thursday.

CHICAGO – The Brewers’ chances of making the MLB post-season sit at 42.9%, per Baseball Reference, and manager Pat Murphy likes those odds. “I like that,” Murphy told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News on Tuesday. “I grew up betting horses with my dad. 42 is a horse that is 8-to-1. That pays $18.40 for a $2 bet.”Needless to say, Murph isn’t worried about percentages. “42 is a great number” he said.

MILWAUKEE – Rookie pitching phenom Jacob Misiorowski was scheduled to make his major league debut against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday night. Misiorowski’s fastball has been clocked at 103 mph. The velocity, coming from his tall frame (6’7″), will assist in making all of his pitches more effective, Arnold said. “His ability to throw his cutter, his breaking ball, etc. are tremendous weapons when he can compliment it with a 103 mph fastball,” the GM explained.
