IntroductionIn 2020, former President Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court (Kim and Itkowitz 2020). Prior to her nomination, it was reported that the entire short list of candidates under consideration for the seat were women; in fact, Donald Trump committed publicly to nominating a woman for the position (Wagner et al. 2020).
