The Beaver County football player who collapsed during a game last year graduated from high school this week. Rochester High School's Carter Mason collapsed on the sidelines after taking a hit in the fourth quarter during a game in October 2024 against Shenango. Mason suffered a brain bleed, his family said. On Thursday, he walked across the stage and received his diploma, a milestone his family said they were not sure he'd ever reach.

Residents concerned after elevated sulfur levels reported at Clairton Coke Works Elevated sulfur levels reported at the Clairton Coke Works plant this week have some residents concerned for their health. It comes after the Allegheny County Health Department said repairs were being done inside the plant. The reports indicate there were elevated sulfur levels in coke oven gas while repairs took place within a control room.

An investigation into missing funds within the McKeesport Area School District is underway. School solicitor Gary Matta confirmed to KDKA-TV on Friday that "funds were not deposited appropriately.""We're making certain that we have everything in line," Matta said. "We think it's under control at this point."Matta said two employees are being investigated and interviews with them will be conducted in the coming days.

An Ohio man is facing felony charges out of Washington County after police said he vandalized a local church. Witnesses told KDKA they saw Stewart Harbin on Wednesday throwing rocks at St. Patrick's Church on West Pike Street. Canonsburg police said Harbin allegedly hit the St. Patrick's statue outside of the church before taking off on foot. The next day, police said Harbin returned.

A local nonprofit that relies on donations from the community and volunteers to serve its customers is in limbo after learning one of its major suppliers may not provide food anymore. Meals on Wheels in Elizabeth Forward is celebrating 47 years this week of serving its community and addressing senior hunger. The nonprofit believed they weren't going to be getting bread and baked goods from Giant Eagle anymore, but the company says it's a misunderstanding.
