Blooper and deleted scene lovers, you’re about to get all of that for Outlander‘s Season 7! A packed Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray set is on its way, with delivery set for May 27! I have all the previous Collector’s Editions in my personal library, so I’ll absolutely be ordering this one. And boy, it’s got a ton in it. There will also be basic Blu-Ray and DVD sets as well, but the Collector’s Edition is the one I’m waiting for. The 16-episode season is the largest since Season 1.

This half season has gone so quickly, hasn’t it! Because of the split, it’s hard to think of Season 7 as a comprehensive whole, but as an 8-episode mini-season, this was wonderful. Every episode was well-written, beautifully acted, and very emotional. Of course, the season finale is no different. While I’d still say that last week’s episode was the best of the eight, this one was not far behind! And as I usually try to do, I found the theme for this one – memory.

Love is not weightless or free. There’s a cost, and a weight of love (which, incidentally, is one of my all-time favorite songs, The Weight of Love, by the Black Keys). Jamie and Claire certainly feel it, but all of our Outlander characters are dealing with that weight in this excellent episode. This one is probably my favorite of the season. I almost always look for a theme to each episode. I can’t think of another one where the theme, intended or not, jumped out at me so clearly.

The theme I pulled out of this week’s episode, Ye Dinna Get Used To It, feels very appropriate today. More than anything else, I saw the idea of treating those who haven’t had the same advantages in life as equals, the idea of protection, as the overriding themes. And yesterday, we got word that Jimmy Carter, former US President, had died at the age of 100.

This is the episode I’ve been waiting for. And while it wasn’t everything I wanted it to be, since this half season is flying past with Spitfire speed, I was happy to get some of this part of the story at least. This episode review is dedicated to all my book reader friends who had to wait YEARS for Jemmy to get out of that tunnel!Yes, we had a lovely wedding – the relationship between Ian and Rachel has been very rushed, I think.
Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King Not Quite Royalty

Disney has once again gone to their closet of previously-made films to create a live action movie based on a beloved animated film with Mufasa: The Lion King. While not a retelling of the 1998 original, OR the “live action” 2019 remake, this new film definitely aims to draw that audience, or at least their children, for this new adventure. Will they show up, though? I had the opportunity to see this new film, out in theaters this Friday, Dec. 20, through Disney’s D23 membership events program.
