    SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - One former Siouxland star has signed a contract with a chance to make it on an NFL roster this season. As former West Sioux standout Hunter Dekkers has been signed to an undrafted free agent deal after impressing in minicamp with the team and former Saints starter Derek Carr retiring. You’ll remember Dekkers finished his collegiate career at Iowa Western after a gambling scandal at Iowa state where it was found he bet on the Cyclones.

    SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) - The Northwestern Red Raiders are hosting an opening round site for the NAIA National Softball Tournament, but they still need to win games out in Sioux Center in order to advance to the final site of the NAIA Softball Tournament. Their opening game was against Baker on Monday evening. Baker would take the first lead of the game with a one run first inning. It would take all the way until the bottom of the 4th inning for another run to cross.

    SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Saturday, the Buena Vista Beavers battled Nebraska Wesleyan for the American Rivers Conference baseball championship. The Prarie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan jumped out to the first lead in this one in the top of the third,But the Beavers answered back in the bottom of the third taking a 2-1 lead. The game would be a back and forth battle where it would be all tied up at 7 heading into the 9th.

    SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Morningside Mustangs are gearing up for the NAIA Tournament, set to begin on Monday May 12th. The Mustangs will play in the Oklahoma City pod in the opening round. The Mustangs head into the tournament with a 33-17 record and a runner up finish in the GPAC Tournament. This is Morningside’s first time back in the National tournament since 2021. This go around the ladies in Maroon are eager to get back on the diamond after their 2-1 series loss to Northwestern.
