    DES MOINES, IA (KTIV) - The Bishop Heelan Crusaders were the aggressors in their semifinal showdown against WIlliamsburg on Wednesday. The Crusaders would rattle off multiple shots on goal throughout the first half before Cal Giese would break the seal to make it 1-0. Sergio Mijangos would send one home before halftime as the Crusaders would take a 2-0 lead into the break.

    DES MOINES, IA (KTIV) - The West Sioux Falcons were up against undefeated Hudson in the IHSAA Class 1A State Semifinals. The Falcons did not look intimidated by their undefeated foe, West Sioux dominated possession of the ball from the very beginning of the game. Jonathon Flores Topete would finally sneak one by the Hudson goalie to give West Sioux a 1-0 lead heading into the break. The Falcons would add some insurance in the second half on an Irving Ramirez strike to make it 2-0.

    AMES, IA (KTIV) - The Bishop Heelan Crusaders girls soccer team was contending with the weather as well as Center Point-Urbana in their quarterfinal showdown on Tuesday. A rainy day in Ames created sloppy playing conditions. That did not hurt the Crusaders too much though Trelyn White would find twine from a ways out to take a 1-0 lead. The Claudia Lavariega would fire one in from Sioux City and Heelan would lead 2-0 heading into the half.

    SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - 4 Siouxland squads earned trips to the IHSAA State Soccer Tournament. Bishop Heelan would travel to Gilbert for their quarterfinal against Wahlert Catholic. Tied at one at the end of regulation the game would go into overtime where Gabe Newberg would send in a header off of a corner kick to win it for the Crusaders. Heelan advances to the semifinals where they will take on Williamsburg, kickoff is set for 5:00pm on Wednesday June 4th at Mediacom stadium.

2 Siouxland squads made the cut for the @NAIA softball tournament! @NWCSoftball is hosting a bracket in Sioux Center they’ll take on the winner of Baker and Northwestern Ohio! @Mside_Softball is heading to Oklahoma City! They’ll open the tourney up against Houston-Victoria!
