    MAPLETON, IA (KTIV) - MVAOCOU and Lawton-Bronson decided to make up a game in the am on June 20th. Leading to a 10:00 am first pitch in Mapleton. The Rams would continue their roll scoring 6 and giving up 0 keeping up with the old adage they can’t win if they can’t score. The win marks the 7th straight for the Rams, who then turned around and topped River Valley 13-2 for their 8th straight win. MVAOCOU improves their record to 15-8 on the year.

    GRANVILLE, IA (KTIV) - For the 40th year now the Spalding Catholic baseball tournament has brought talent on the basepaths to Granville, Iowa. Hinton and Kingsley-Pierson opened the day with a pitching duel that the Panthers would win 2-1. Don Bosco would later defeat Gehlen Catholic 1-0. The Panthers and Dons will play one another in the semifinals on Saturday at 2:00. Remsen St. Mary’s toppled Akron-Westfield 10-2 they will take on BHRV in the semifinals at noon on Saturday.

    SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The first game of the doubleheader between Bishop Heelan and Sioux City North came right down to the wire on Thursday. Trailing by 2 in the bottom of the 7th the Stars would load up the bases. Then Josh Mogensen would send an RBI single into left to make it 2-1. Heelan would go to Hunter Wauhob out of the bullpen and the senior would strike out the first batter he faced for the second out.

    SGT. BLUFF, IA (KTIV) - Sgt. Bluff-Luton and Council Bluffs Abe Lincoln did all their damage in the first few innings of the second game of their doubleheader. SBL would hold a 6-1 lead in the 3rd inning and proceed to hang onto that lead the rest of the way to pick up a sweep of the Lynx.     SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Bishop Heelan Crusader softball team entered Thursday with a bit of momentum fresh off of Elliana Ross’s walkoff home run against Spencer. They certainly carried that momentum into their doubleheader with Sioux City North. After outlasting the stars in a 7-6 thriller in game one. The Crusaders dominated North in game two winning 13-2. The wins improve Bishop Heelan’s record to 14-10 on the season.
