Jim Massey, owner of one of Montgomery’s oldest and most trusted businesses, said he is thankful to be alive after the terrifying ordeal. Massey was alone in his office around 6 p.m. when he heard a loud crash. As he stepped out to investigate, he was confronted by a man rushing down the hallway.

Traffic was brought to a standstill around noon last Tuesday, as multiple law enforcement agencies descended on the Chevron gas station on Zelda Road minutes after 24-year-old Rodriquez Harris, Jr. was gunned down.

The family of Drew Dauphin – who was killed in the attack – flew from Montgomery to New Orleans Monday to attend the service, meet with President Biden, and bring their beloved son’s body back home.
