BAMBERG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Alan Thibodeau was a son, brother, father and friend. He also had a history of mental illness. When he turned up missing, his family feared the worst. In the five months he was at the Bamberg County Detention Center, he wasted away, his family says. He died at the hospital. The thing is, he wasn’t supposed to be behind bars.
