MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. — After an explosion at a local church McCracken County, Sheriff Ryan Norman is urging the community to use fireworks for their intended use only. His message comes after that incident caused by a sparkler bomb at Lone Oak First Baptist church left two construction workers seriously injured. A sparkler bomb is a handmade explosive made by taping together multiple sparklers.

PADUCAH — Adults with one or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in Kentucky are associated with an increased risk of poor health, limited education, and job retention issues according to a new Kentucky Youth Advocates report. The report finds that Kentucky pays out $295 million per year because of the high number of adults who experience ACEs through medical bills and loss of income. The report gathered data from 2015 to 2020.
