The Australian team from the international sailing series SailGP has been bought up by high-profile new owners – iconic actors Ryan Reynolds and Australian Hugh Jackman. In addition, the team, which has won three championships in the last four seasons, now has Australian underwear firm Bonds as its inaugural title sponsor, through a multi-year deal also unveiled yesterday (June 5).

The Cadillac Formula 1 (F1) racing team has signed major US fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger as its first official sponsor as it prepares to enter motor racing's iconic Formula 1 next year. Through a multi-year tie-up unveiled earlier this week, New York-based Tommy Hilfiger becomes the Michigan team's apparel partner and lifestyle sponsor.

Mercury 13, the multi-club ownership group focusing specifically on women’s soccer clubs, has appointed the Wasserman agency as its global rights sales partner. Wasserman – and in particular its women's sport-focused advisory business, The Collective – will act as the exclusive worldwide commercial sales agency for Italian side FC Como Women, the one club currently under Mercury 13 ownership (bought in March 2024).

Automotive heavyweight Honda has become a founding partner of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, US. The Japanese brand has, in addition, signed on as the automotive partner of the Team USA organization in a tie-up that covers the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics (to be held in Milan-Cortina in Northern Italy) as well as the 2028 events.

Italian top-tier soccer club Udinese are close to being taken over by US-based global investment firm Guggenheim Partners, according to reports. The sale of Udinese, currently owned by the Pozzo family, is expected to close by the end of this week (Friday, June 6), in Luxembourg, various Italian media sites have reported. Sky Italia has reported that a preliminary agreement, originally signed in April, will be formally ratified on Friday.
