A graphic novel shows the reality of being female under the ayatollahs. The graphic novelWomen, Life, Freedom was born in tragedy. In September 2022, 22-year-old Iranian Mahsa Amini was murdered. She was beaten to death by the Iranian morality police, the Gasht-e Ershad (Guidance Patrol), a law enforcement body created to enforce regulations on modest dress (ḥijāb) and chaste behavior (ʿifāf). Her crime? She wore her veil “improperly,” inadvertently revealing loose wisps of hair.

London, 13 August: A Muslim guard, who gave his name as Abdullah, saved an 11-year-old girl from a knife attack in London on Monday. The 29-year-old guard at a nearby store said he heard a scream and then saw someone was stabbing a kid. He said he jumped on the attacker, held his hand carrying the knife and put him down. The guard succeeded in taking away the knife from the attacker. Abdullah added that a couple of more people joined him and they held the attacker until police reached at the spot.
