Four years each for duo who tried to hold up Uncle Tony’sTwo men were sent to prison yesterday, February 19, after they admitted assault with a firearm inside a shopping mall eatery on January 3, 2014. Luís Enrique Cruz, 19, and Sergio Rivera Ramos, 24, were both shot by one of the owners of Uncle Tony’s Italian Cuisine in Vista. The pair were originally charged with kidnap, attempted robbery, and assault with a firearm on three different victims — a total of six felonies each.

Two men – Jeremy Jonathan White, 41, and Brian Cortez Lightfoot, Jr., 27 – who drove from Los Angeles to attack a pro-Trump rally in Pacific Beach in 2021 were found guilty of felony conspiracy to riot with Antifa co-conspirators, a jury announced on Friday, May 3. White claimed that he went to Pacific Beach January 9, 2021 to act as a medic during a planned First Amendment march. Since April 2, the jury heard evidence for four weeks, and then they deliberated more than ten days.

Roberto Ignacio Flores, 32, who was convicted by two different juries of the attempted murder of an Oceanside cop, but had both convictions overturned, made a plea deal in which he admitted the attempted murder and he was sentenced to 18 years in California State prison. He pleaded guilty in February, and was sentenced on March 7 2024.

The demand was heard Friday, March 1, by Judge Daniel Goldstein. This judge, who will hear the trial, was hearing motions before jury selection, which is expected to begin in two weeks.
