This month, Gettysburg College announced that it was shutting down The Gettysburg Review, one of the nation’s top literary magazines. The Review, which was founded in 1988 by Peter Stitt, has been affiliated with the college since its inception, and has published notable writers including E.L. Doctorow, Rita Dove, James Tate, and Joyce Carol Oates.
