With every Colorado Rockies affiliate now in full swing for 2025, there is always fun baseball to watch—except on Tuesdays. Only one affiliate—the Hartford Yard Goats—has a winning record, but the games have been fun and offer a lot of excitement thanks to the prospects in the system.

Colorado Rockies top pitching prospect Chase Dollander (no. 1 PuRP) has now made his first three big league starts after getting called up in early April. There’s been a lot to like watching the budding star from Rocky Top, drafted ninth overall by the Rockies in the 2023 draft. He’s composed and confident on the mound, executing pitch after pitch and pounding the strike zone.

In this doubleheader nightcap against the Washington Nationals they risk being swept in their third straight series and increasing their losing streak to nine games. The Rockies have no doubt been a tough watch—leading to the firing of hitting coach Hensley Meulens—as they are off to their worst first 20 games to start the season in franchise history.

Prior to their double-header on Sunday afternoon, the Colorado Rockies announced that they are placing right-handed reliever Victor Vodnik on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to April 17th. Vodnik, 25, has made nine appearances this season with a 4.50 ERA over eight innings. He’s given up two home runs and has struck out eight batters while walking six.

On Thursday afternoon the Colorado Rockies announced that they had relieved hitting coach Hensley “Bam Bam” Meulens from his duties effective immediately. Special assistant to the general manager Clint Hurdle has been appointed interim hitting coach. We have relieved hitting coach Hensley Meulens of his duties. Special Assistant to the GM, Clint Hurdle, has been named hitting coach for the remainder of the season.

All four Colorado Rockies affiliates now have at least one full six-game series in the books as the minor league season comes into full swing. However, only the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats came away with a series victory—despite missing a game due to inclement weather. The Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes have also seen their roster become more depleted as a struggling big-league club fills holes caused by injury and desperately tries to find a way to win ballgames or even score a run.

The Colorado Rockies have announced that designated hitter Kris Bryant is being placed on the 10-day injured list with lumbar degenerative disk disease. The news was first reported by MLB.com’s Thomas Harding. Bryant, 33, has struggled with injuries since the Rockies signed him to a seven-year, $182 million contract before the 2022 season. He’s missed time for a variety of different ailments, but his back has been the primary culprit.

The 2025 minor league season is now in full swing. Each Colorado Rockies affiliate has completed their first series of at least three games and the Low-A through Double-A teams will start their first full six game sets today.
