Volkswagen has finally given the Tiguan an engine worth caring about. The 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo stuffs a stronger version of the brand’s 2.0L turbo-four under the hood, giving the compact crossover an extra 67 horsepower and 51 pound-feet of torque. It’s only been a few months since VW revealed the all-new for 2025 version of the Tiguan. The model hasn’t yet hit dealerships, and Volkswagen is already thinking about (and making improvements for) 2026.

A hatchback version of a gas-powered sedan and an electric version of a sedan that looks like it should have a hatch. Those are the two new models Kia is bringing to the New York International Auto Show this week. The all-new Kia K4 hatchback has up to 190 horsepower, and the Kia EV4 is an entry-level electric sedan with up to 330 miles of range. Just like the K4 sedan replaced the Forte, the 2026 Kia K4 Hatchback replaces the Forte GT.
