The More Than A Cure Foundation (MTAC) held an education day at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal on Wednesday evening. More Than A Cure provides critical financial assistance and services to help women in need navigate diagnosis and treatment. The Foundation to date has raised over $150,000 to help support women battling breast cancer.

Members of Montreal's Muslim community came together on Sunday to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr at the Hilm/CYD Eid prayer, held at the Olympia Reception Hall in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. Hilm and the Canadian Youth Development Centre follow the Quebec Council of Imams, who observe global moon sighting, as opposed to a smaller percentage that observe local moon sighting. This means the holiday begins once the new moon is sighted with the naked eye.

Shagufta Janjua organizes the annual Ramadan Exhibition every year on Montreal's West Island during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Local vendors gather to sell clothes, desserts, household décor and candy; all while fasting from sun up to sun down. "Being together in a community is very important," Janjua explained. An inter-community Iftar dinner - the fast-breaking meal during Ramadan - saw residents, elected officials, and charities come together in Montreal's West Island Tuesday evening.
