SWAT: The final round of 13th Snow Jeep Race was held in Kalam on Sunday with thrilling performances on the snow-laden tracks. The event that started on Saturday was organised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) in collaboration with the Frontier 4x4 Club, Upper Swat Development Authority, and Pakistan Army. SWAT: Security officials on Tuesday rejected as ‘misleading’ the concerns by a local jirga regarding the possible expansion of the cantonment in Swat, and clarified that a survey currently underway was a routine matter to ensure that maps reflected the latest ground realities. The clarification was issued in a statement after residents of 13 villages held a jirga at the Dherai ground in Kabal tehsil on Sunday, where they refused to provide their land for what said expansion of the cantonment.

SWAT/LAKKI MARWAT: Three suspected militants were killed and two policemen were wounded in two attacks in Swat and Lakki Marwat on Tuesday night, sources said. The first attack took place in Swat when militants attacked a police contingent while it was patrolling the Asharay area of Matta tehsil. Swat DPO Dr Zahidullah told Dawn that police from the Asharay post, in Matta tehsil, were on routine patrol at 11.40pm when they encountered five masked suspects on the road.

SWAT: A case has been registered against unidentified persons over Sunday’s explosion which targeted a diplomatic convoy in Swat. The Counter-Terrorism Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has registered the FIR a day after one cop was martyred and five others were injured in the attack. The FIR has been registered under sections 324, 353 and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code; sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act; and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered a case over the attack on a diplomatic convoy in Swat, it emerged on Monday. A policeman escorting a convoy of foreign diplomats was martyred after a roadside explosion in Swat on Sunday. The delegation, including diplomats from 12 countries, was returning to Islamabad from Malam Jabba when their vehicle was targeted. An improvised explosive device hit a police squad vehicle leading the convoy.
