1 INTRODUCTION Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most common cancer in men and the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death in men.1 According to the SEER database, although the 5-year overall survival rate for prostate cancer is very high (98.2%), among the 5% of men with distant (metastatic) prostate cancer at diagnosis, their 5-year survival rate is still only slightly higher, at 30%.2 The leading cause of prostate cancer death is metastasis.

Abstract Groundwater exploitations in semi-arid regions result in significant declines of groundwater levels and streamflow and even trigger seasonal streamflow drying up, which may bring adverse impacts on riparian ecosystems. It is critical to explore future streamflow changes caused by variable climate scenarios and groundwater exploitation intensities; however, a comprehensive assessment of the streamflow drying up frequency remains lacking.

Abstract:The generation of wheel–rail-sliding frictional heat is often accompanied by transverse displacement of a wheel. To study the thermal problem of wheel–rail sliding friction at two-point contact, this paper uses an LM tread wheel and a 60 kg·m−1 rail as examples. A thermal–mechanical-coupled finite-element model of equal proportion wheel–rail sliding is established. A direct-coupling method is used to analyze the thermal–mechanical coupling of the wheel–rail interface under sliding contact.
