A 70-year-old Irish woman has been arrested in the occupied West Bank and is currently detained in Israel fighting a deportation order. Deirdre 'D' Murphy is originally from Douglas in Cork but is now based in Swansea in Wales. She is volunteering with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), an activist group helping Palestinian residents in the occupied West Bank.

On Tuesday evening at the White House, President Donald Trump shocked the world with a suggestion that would amount to the most dramatic change in US policy on the Middle East in decades. He announced that the US would take control of Gaza for the "long term" and that Palestinians would be moved out while Gaza is redeveloped into the "Riviera of the Middle East".

The founder of a militia group had just been released from an 18-year sentence for seditious conspiracy for his part in the riot at the US Capitol on 6 January 2021. "The momentum's on our side, don’t stop now," he told some right-wing media outlets, as he waited outside the jail for his fellow 'Jan 6th veterans’ to be released.

Caroline Kennedy, daughter of former US President John F Kennedy, has sent a scathing letter about her cousin Robert F Kennedy Jr to US senators, ahead of his senate confirmation hearing tomorrow. She said he was completely unqualified to be Secretary of Health, called him a "predator" and said his anti-vaccine rhetoric has cost many lives. RFK Jr ran for president but dropped out and endorsed Donald Trump, who has now nominated him to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.

"I think Zelensky is one of the greatest salesmen I've ever seen. Every time he comes in, we give him $100 billion," Donald Trump said on a conservative podcast last October. "I feel very badly for those people. But he should never have let that war start. That war is a loser," he went on to tell podcast host Patrick Bet-David. The war was of course started by a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
