Raidió Teilifís Éireann, commonly known as RTÉ, is the national public service broadcaster of Ireland and operates as a semi-state company. It creates and airs content across various platforms, including television, radio, and the Internet. RTÉ's radio service commenced on January 1, 1926, and it began regular television broadcasts on December 31, 1961, establishing itself as one of the longest-running public service broadcasters globally. Additionally, RTÉ produces a weekly magazine called the RTÉ Guide, which focuses on its television and radio programming.

Woman given suspended sentence for cruelty to daughters

A 41-year-old woman who stayed with her violent partner even after he grabbed one of her two young daughters by the throat and hit her head on kitchen tiles, has received a two-and-a-half-year suspended sentence. The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Cork Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing today after she pleaded guilty to two counts of cruelty contrary to the Children's Act.

CAB took possession of the semi-detached double-fronted five-bedroom house in Hazelbury Park in Clonee four months ago. It is to be sold at an online public auction in two weeks starting at the advised minimum value, but is expected to receive a higher price.
Satchwell told gardaí wife's death happened in a flash

Richard Satchwell told gardaí he could not remember the details of how his wife, Tina, died because it all happened in a flash. Mr Satchwell denies the murder of his wife in March 2017. Her body was found six-and-a-half years later buried under the stairs in their home. The jury in the trial of Mr Satchwell watched a video recording of the second interview carried out by gardaí with him, after his wife's remains were found in October 2023.
Approval for McDonald's O'Connell Street outlet make-over

Dublin City Council has given the green light for a makeover of McDonald's flagship outlet on Dublin's O'Connell Street. But in granting planning permission, the City Council has ordered that planned pigeon protection spikes to the upper floors be omitted for the fast food giant's outlet. The Council has also ordered proposed illuminated projecting signage shall be omitted and that the "M" logo within the glazing at lower mezzanine level of the restaurant not be permitted.
ECJ to rule on Von der Leyen text message case
