Last week, Pampa Learning Center Director Carrie Williams and Pampa ISD Social Worker, Suzanne Pingel traveled to Austin to attend the annual Texas Association of Alternative Education conference where they were one out of three schools in the state that was chosen to showcase their school. “It made me so proud of PLC because we’re a smaller alternative school,” Williams said.

Mary Helen Dickerson Frazier, better known as Helen, age 89, of Sparta, passed away June 26, 2024, at her residence.  Helen was born April 11, 1935, in the Lost Creek community, of White County, to Henry Thomas and Alma Mae Shelton DickersonIn honor of Helen’s wishes, Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with her cremation, and no public services are planned. Eulaine Ellis Hall, born Edith Eulaine Ellis on July 10, 1933, in Potter County, TX, died peacefully on April 22, 2024, in Dallas. She was 90 years old. Drawn to her vivacious spirit and rapier wit, friends surrounded her throughout her life. Adventurous and outspoken, she brought purpose and excitement to everything she did. She grew up in Pampa, TX where she first fostered her boundless energy, creativity, and leadership.
