Championship season is approaching for central Ohio boys track and field athletes. The postseason begins May 20 with district at Hilliard Darby (Division I), Caledonia River Valley (Division II) and Granville (Division III). Regional follows May 28 and 30 for divisions I and III and May 29 and 31 for Division II. The Division I regional is at Pickerington North. Division II regionals will be held at Lexington and Piqua, while Division III will be at Heath.

Sixty-three central Ohio high school football programs participated in college showcases across 56 sites May 4-8. The sites typically featured agility and speed drills. Hilliard Darby coach Brad Burchfield says it's "an incredible opportunity" for players to receive exposure. For the third year in a row, the first full week of May doubles as college football showcase week in central Ohio.

After playing one season together at Hilliard Bradley, brothers Keaton and Cade Norris thought their days as basketball teammates were over. But a sequence of events after the 2024-25 season and the college basketball transfer portal have made an on-court family reunion possible. The brothers, who played for their father, Brett Norris, at Bradley, recently committed to Samford University, a Division I program in suburban Birmingham, Alabama, for the 2025-26 season.

Once adversaries at the high school level, three state champions from central Ohio have joined forces on the men’s track and field and cross-country teams at Syracuse University, impressing their coach and showing the Columbus area is a hotbed for elite distance runners. Connor Ackley (Hilliard Davidson), Ben Gabelman (Westerville North) and Sam Ricchiuti (Dublin Jerome) feel at home in central New York, running for the Orange. Ackley is a sophomore, and Gabelman and Ricchiuti are freshmen.

The Franklin Heights boys basketball team has forfeited eight wins for using an ineligible player in the second half of the 2024-25 season, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced April 24 at its board of directors meeting. One of the forfeited wins was a 57-49 victory over 15th-seeded Watkins Memorial in a Division II district semifinal.
