The Miss Montie shrimp boat ran aground in Beverly Beach on Sunday. The 50-foot shrimp boat lost power and drifted for about 25 miles, its captain said. He said the Coast Guard told him it was too dangerous to tow him so they took him and his other crew member and his dog off the boat. A 50-foot shrimp boat named "Miss Montie" was cast ashore Sunday at Beverly Beach, just north of Flagler Beach. The stuck vessel drew onlookers who took pictures of and with the boat as they marveled at the rare sight of it washed up ashore. It swayed back and forth amid the tide. The Flagler Beach Fire Department was dispatched to the area and searched the boat "with no findings," FBFD said via Facebook.
